RRC achieved a total of 5 wins on the day, the men won IM2 4 and the IM2 - and the women won WIM1 4-, IM2 4x and WIM3 2x.

Conditions weren’t bad for this year’s Scullers Head with sunshine for most of the race and the wind not affecting the rowers until after Hammersmith. Once past Hammersmith though, a strong headwind made the row very tough.

Reading had five members representing the club. Simon Gough was the fastest RRC sculler coming 97th overall.  Kevin Du Toit achieved 141st.  Dirk Borgstede came 23rd in his category.  Chris Heemskerk came 6th out of 21 competitors in W IM3 and 26th woman overall.  Sally Pollok-Morris competed in WVetB where she came 2nd.

Membership Rates Remain Static for 2010

E-mail Print

At the AGM on 14th October, it was unanimously agreed that subscription rates for 2010 would be held at 2009 levels and not increased in line with inflation. This has been possible due to prudent financial management throughout the previous year and was warmly welcomed by members in view of the wider economic situation. The 2010 subscriptions which fall due on 1st April will therefore be £300 for adults, £150 for juniors/full-time students and £115 for colts. Adults will continue to be able to opt for a staged payment option as an alternative to paying by lump sum, thus allowing them to spread the cost over April, May and June.
